Every month is special:
Late May or June make your own cherry jam!
Mid-June until early August, marvel at the lavender.
Late September help with the grape harvest.
October and November the scenery is every hue of orange and gold - a painter's paradise!
End of November until March hunt for truffles.
December until the end of February, beginner's skiing an hour away at the Montagne de Lure, and expert slopes at Serre Chevalier (2½ hours).
Winter is traditionally bright and crisp: we have been here for eleven years and have eaten outside on Boxing Day for seven of those.
Christmas is wonderful, with the nativity performed by local children in the exquisitely romantic village church on the evening of 24th December, followed by Midnight mass for those who choose to stay for it. Local restaurants serve rich casseroles of wild boar with delicious red wine, or fluffy mushroom or truffle omelettes
By late February almond trees are pink with blossom.
March brings colourful wildflowers lining the edge of the roads
April is yellow with huge bushes of broom
